Today

jul_large {we heart it}

I’ve been worrying a lot lately.  Worrying about our move, worrying about finding a job, worrying about how I’ll feel when I’m hundreds of miles from my family and best friends.  Worrying is a tricky thing; it’s a trap.  I spend countless hours and energy obsessing over things I have absolutely no control over, and in this process, I miss out using these hours and energy somewhere where it counts, somewhere where I can do something.  So today, I’m trying hard not to worry.  Because this picture is so right.  Today is the day I worried about yesterday.  I worried, but it came and went all the same.  Nothing happy is happening today because I worried.  Happy things are happening because they’re happening, so I’m going to embrace the motto “let go and let God.”  Today, I am not going to worry…

THANK YOU for posting this! You are certainly not the only person who does this...I always start stressing about something then think, "Is this going to matter in a week, a month, a year?" Think about things you stressed about last year...they rarely matter now! I hope your move stays exciting and doesn't stress you out too much more! It's been fun to read about your changes! :)

aw girl you are totally right! don't stress - life will work itself out, as it always does. you're right - i, too, spend entirely too much time worrying about things that are going to happen the way they happen whether i worry or not. feel better :)

Great post- I totally know where you are with all the worrying- my life is in total limbo come august 1st-ish unless I find a job, we're moving soon too (though it sounds like not nearly as far.) Everything will work out for the best though, I'm a firm believer that, in the end it always does, so you just have try to not stress while your on the way there :)

This is such a good honest post! And it's so true. I am the same way sometimes, I overanalyze situations and then realize I need to stop letting my mind control me in that way! I know it's definitely stressful and scary to move to a new place, but there will be some exciting aspects that will go along with it!

My mom has always been a huge worrier---when I was in high school, I used to quote her the Sunscreen song--- "Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum."

I love this quote you posted too.

hi allison! i just stumbled accross your blog and wanted to let you know that 1. it's SUPER cute! and 2. i'm a worrier too. it's so hard to keep the brighter things in mind when the unknown is so scary. i know i'm new here and this is cliche of me to say, but everything will work out the way it's supposed to! keep your chin up! :)
